Great mom & pop type restaurant / cafe located in Little Saigon area of OC. Open late (til 2am), which is why it popped up on my radar. I was on my way home and was looking for food in the area and this place came up. This place is located in a small strip mall and if you do come here late, there's a noisy nightclub next door that you walk past, haha. Now, I haven't been to Vietnam in over fifteen years, but I will say that as soon as I walked through the door, the vibe here felt like I was in a cafe in Vietnam. There's a karaoke stage towards the back, but it wasn't super busy when I got there and the karaoke wasn't on. The service was really friendly and warm here. It's been a while since I had good bun rieu, so that's what I ordered. I definitely thought it was great and it really hit the spot. It came with the fresh accoutrements including some shrimp paste. I don't know if it was nostalgia or it made me thing of my family, but I really just enjoyed my meal here. Because it was on the later side, parking was really easy in the lot, but it looks like it can get tight during the busy times.

Every single time whenever I come here the place never ever disappoints. I always bring new friends here and they have all loved this restaurant. The owners are so sweet. I usually come at night, late nights and there's usually karaoke. Yesterday night, the owner suggested for our group to sing karaoke while eating our meal and it was a great time. The bun rieu, com tam, bun bo hue, bun vit sao mang, bun thit nuong, canh bun, banh canh, and bun mam never disappoints.

I will never forget this restaurant for as long as I live. My sister and I had stopped by after a concert on a Tuesday night around 12am. She was feeling quite sick so I recommended eating something soupy and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. I was surprised because we were the only party at the restaurant alongside whom I presume was the restaurant owner and his friend singing karaoke; then I remembered it was also a weekday at midnight. We ordered the crab spring rolls and the Chao Goi Ga. An elderly grandpa took our order. When everything came out, we asked for extra bowls for sharing. We couldn't communicate since he spoke only Vietnamese and us English but he eventually understood that we were trying to share and brought the extra bowls for us. The food was amazing! So much flavor in the crab spring rolls, the chicken salad and the chicken rice soup. It hit the spot. Their chicken salad dipping sauce was sweet but savory. My sister and I agreed it was much better than our mom's version. In the middle of our meal, the owner who was doing karaoke gave us a proposition - if we sang, we wouldn't have to pay for our meal. We declined at first but since he was adamant about it, we did it. We did leave a hefty tip since we were grateful for the opportunity, service, and food. It was a funny experience but also a memorable one. Overall, if we were in the area, we would come back because the food and service is amazing.

Not your typical Vietnamese place. More home food than your typical pho restaurant. Owner is super nice and helped showed us how to properly eat the food. If you come you can sing karaoke. There is a credit card surcharge so be on notice of that, about 2.99%. All in all a good experience!
